Curtis and I met today at Mr. Robotos to discuss our plans for our month in SE Asia. I think its pretty awesome that there is finally somebody else who wants to backpack and do crazy things that the typical person would frown upon. We are both hoping for for some great cultural immersion but also hoping to meet some other cool backpackers on the way. After searching for hours upon hours for ticket prices to and from Hong Kong I know that Hong Kong will definitely be our best point of entry. Arriving at 6am sounds pretty crazy though. I wonder how much English is actually spoken there, and how confused I will be arriving in the biggest city I'll have ever been in by myself. *Note to self* Don't over plan this trip, and calm down and take deep breaths and realize that when the unexpected happens you make the best of it, it's all a part of the adventures of travel. I'm glad my first backpacking experience will be with a friend, instead of being solo. I don't think I could pull this off without Curtis. A whole new chapter in my life is about to be opened. I am going to miss Aaron and the rest of my family and friends so much, but this is something that I have to do for myself. One month of travel that I've always dreamed of, and then onto the teaching job of my dreams. My head might say no to all of this, but my heart is saying yes you gotta get out and experience life. I wonder how I'll feel about this first post in a year from now? ahhhhh Buying the tickets tomorrow! Maybe I should be going to church tomorrow instead of doing homework. Isn't that right God? *wink*.
